We currently hire a kiln that is only fired when full, to use energy economically. The energy comes from renewable resources.
We minimise the use of water by having a bucket system, when the water and clay separate they can both be recycled in the process. Clay scraps are reused. The same system, but different buckets, is used for glazing. I plan to use the mix of glazes for interiors of vases. If you can think of better ways please let me know.
Quirky Ceramics will only purchase recyclable packaging. If you receive any plastic bubble wrap etc, it is material we have received and we are keeping it from landfill, please keep reusing!
